Snowshoe CountrysideThey offer you several fully guided snowshoeing adventures in which you are going to explore the wilds and heritage of the Haliburton Highlands.

Walk into Winter – A Day Trip

Take a walk on the wild side. Begin your adventure with an introduction to the art of snowshoeing.

Immediately after coaching and some practice you are going to head out on a wilderness stroll to explore the ecology of winter as well as the finer points of winter travel and survival.

Be prepared to hear some good stories, enjoy warm hospitality along with a tasty bush lunch prepared the old fashion way, by campfire.

Winter Season Adventure Only – Also available as a half day adventure.

Physical Challenge Rating: 4
May include more challenging hiking, cycling, mountain biking or other activities that require a moderately high level of fitness. (See All Ratings)

Rates:  Based on a minimum of 6 persons plus HST. Full day – from $80/person.

Package includes expert guide, lunch, transportation, and equipment.

Half day – from $50/person.

Snowshoe rentals can be arranged at an additional fee.

Sample Only of Itinerary,

9:30 am > Everything You Needed To Know About Snowshoeing

10:45 am > On the Trail – Follow your guide on snowshoes to wild places to discover the
winter flora and fauna of the Haliburton Highlands.

12:30 pm > Bush Lunch – Build a campfire and cozy up for a very tasty lunch and a few
stories.

2:00 pm > On the Trail Again – Your guide will share his knowledge about winter travel, camping and survival.

4:00 pm > Return

This itinerary can be adapted for experienced snowshoers. Other possible
activities/presentations include

Walk into Winter – A Heritage Adventure

Winter Season Adventure – 3 days/2 nights

Explore the winter wilds of the Haliburton Highlands With

Snowshoes

Day 1 – Start your experience with an introduction to snowshoes

After the introduction you will practice a little then head out on a wilderness walk to understand the ecology of winter as well as the finer points of wintertime travel and survival.

You will also enjoy some good stories, warm hospitality, a tasty bush lunch prepared over a campfire, a scrumptious dinner, hot tub, and live entertainment.

Day 2 takes you back into Canada’s history and join an 18th Century fur trader for a snowshoe along Ten Mile Creek to a heritage log cabin.

There you will hear stories and see artifacts from the 18th and 19th century fur trade and enjoy a hearty lunch of baked beans, wild rice, and bannock.

Rates:  Based on a minimum of 6 persons, double occupancy, plus HST.
Adults only.

With accommodation – from $465/person.
You will stay at the unique and beautiful Stouffer Mill B&B or Oakview Lodge near Hall’s Lake.

Package includes three days of program, two breakfasts, one dinner, two lunches, and two nights accommodation.

Without accommodation – from $290/person.

This option will work if your staying with us here at the Loralea but if your looking for a getaway where your meals are done for you then the two places mentioned above serve great meals.
