sleigh rideDress with your most comfy winter clothes and come out to Head Lake with the whole family and friends and check out a full day of outside fun and recreation in Haliburton Village consisting of a Pancake Breakfast, Horse Drawn Wagon, Dog Sleds, Polar Bear Challenge, Snowshoes, Broom ball, BBQ, Ice Fishing, Maple Snow Taffy, Crafts for Kids, Ponies, Art Attack, Skating and much more.

What’s Happening;

  • pancakesStart your day off at the Haliburton Legion where you can witness the crowning of the Ambassador and enjoy a pancake breakfast with the Lions for $5 from 8 am to 11 am
  • Learn to Ice Fish with the Outdoors Association
  • Lace up your skates and enjoy a leisurely glide on one of Head Lake ice rinks
  • Learn to play Disc Golf on snowshoes with the Dysart et al Recreation and Library Loan Program and Camp Wanakita from 10 am til noon
  • Ride the ponies from South Algonquin Trails from 10:30 am til 1 pm
  • broomballPlay a game of broomball with Youth Unlimited from 10 am till noon and enjoy a cup of Tim Horton’s Hot Chocolate by donation while supplies last
  • Hitch a ride on Harry Hutching’s horse drawn wagon from 11 am til 3 pm
  • Join the Rails End and the Haliburton Highlands Museum in an Art Attack that celebrates the upcoming sesquicentennial from 11 am til 2 pm
  • Beat the crowds to try Beatty’s Maple Snow Taffy from 11:30 am til taffy is all gone
  • Meet up with they Dysart Recreation and Library Loan Program to help raise the big parachute at noon hour
  • Haliburton District Lions Club BBQ from noon to 3 pm
  • polar bear logoThe polar bear dip, very popular, hosted again this year by the Lions Club for the Sick Kids from 1 pm to the last brave person to jump in
  • Fun Time for the kids with dogsledding by Winterdance from 1:45 pm to 3:45 pm
  • Coming to closing time so head over to the United Church for a hearty lasagna dinner from 4 pm til 6 pm – Cost $10 per peson and $5 for kids under 12 years
